RESTORATIVE YOGA PRIVATE SESSIONS
Savour the deep relaxation of restorative asanas and meditation.
Restorative yoga adapts classical asana practice to de-emphasize physical work and emphasize release of tension and gentle re-alignment. Using a series of passive forward bends, back bends inversions, and reclining poses, restorative yoga both calms the mind and stimulates the movement of prana or life force throughout the entire body (healing energies).
These specific supported “restoratives” asanas activate the parasympathetic nervous system (the body’s natural healing system) to realign the spine and pelvis to alleviate back, sciatica, and sacral challenges. Beneficial in reducing the stress and tension associated with these areas in the body, which often have been painful or a problem for years.
Restorative Yoga is a fabulous approach to retraining the mind that you can let go, live more active lives with less or pain free.
In each class we begin with a few minutes of gentle movement before settling into a restorative practice. Stretching will warm the muscles and create space in the body to prepare it for relaxation. Movement will also give your body a chance to shed its restlessness and busy-ness before settling into a place of stillness.
Leave feeling rejuvenated, alive and on a journey of healing. Sessions utilize bolsters, blankets, props and blocks.
